We highlighted somepretty clever light paintings and how to create them earlier this month. If you’re looking for a way to make them less free form and more geometric this clever and inexpensive hack will help you “paint” circles.
DIY Photography blog shares a guide to crafting symmetrical light lines, courtesy ofDennis Calvert. The guts of the hack are so simple, you attach your light source to the shaft of a paint rolling wand and spin the wand to create the perfectly concentric circles. Anything you can attach to the wand (LEDs, cold cathode tubes) can be used to light the photo. Once upon a time in a more analog age, my brother and I made similar photos with a flaming stick and a disregard for fire safety, this paint roller and LED combo certainly classes it up a bit.
