How to natively enable Emoji on iOS 5

If your like me sometimes just plain text isn’t enough when you want to get your point across to someone. And by that i mainly main sending messages or emails to friends, not to anyone in a professional sense. And because of this i ended up downloading an emoji app for my iPhone because it was the only way to have it enabled on your phone. But know with the introduction of iOS 5 we get another great little perk that we dont have to pay extra for.

That awesome little surprise comes to us in the form of emoji’s that are built in to iOS 5 without the need of any downloads or purchases. All you have to do is go into the settings on your iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad and your all set.

Step 1: Open your Settings Panel then select General.

Step 2: Scroll down and select Keyboard.

Step 3: On this screen, select International Keyboards.

Step 4: Select Add New Keyboard.

Step 5: Scroll down and select Emoji.

After that your all set, if you want to use your new emoji in an email or text all you have to do is simply click on the globe icon next to the space bar. Once you do that you should see the emoji and be able to insert them. Just click on the Globe again to exit out to the regular keyboard.

After Installing this extra keyboard you’ll get  access to over 700 symbols you can use in any message your sending. The symbols range from smiley faces and objects, to numbers and symbols.
